Beginning in 2016-17, the University of Redlands – School of Education will conduct workshops for teachers at Valley Preparatory School. The main goal of this project is to empower teachers to increase the integration of technology in their teaching and learning in a blended learning format. The plan represents the ongoing commitment of Valley Preparatory School to the professional growth and development of its teachers in order for them to meet the unique needs of every student. Students will gain access to the best technology to enhance their learning experience.
The workshops will be geared to meeting the needs of the PS-8th teacher and will provide hands-on practical and user friendly experience for all participants. The workshops will utilize a constructivist approach to developing blended classroom strategies. The International Baccalaureate – Primary Years Program, which will be implemented at Valley Prep beginning in 2016-17, also uses the constructivist approach to teaching and learning.
